The die and mould industry means a wide variety of components machined to tight tolerances: plastic injection moulds, forging dies, casting dies, extrusion dies and micro-moulds, each with tools specific to the application. Machining is usually done in small batches, in several operations, from difficult-to-machine materials: pre-hardened steel, hardened tool steel and stainless steel.
